The Divorce Recovery Workshop is an ongoing outreach ministry of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

The workshop uses Dr. Bruce Fisher’s book When Your Relationship Ends, which discusses the emotional, social, and psychological aspects of the divorce process. We try to give participants as much information as possible, based upon the belief that healthy, normal persons – if given the education guidance, and emotional support – can adjust to a crisis such as divorce and make it a personal growth experience.

Each week, participants hear a presentation by an area psychologist or counselor on a subject related to the divorce process. During the second hour, participants go into small groups for sharing, discussion, and mutual support. The groups are facilitated by trained group leaders who have been workshop participants themselves, and understand the loss process.
