Welcome to The
Harbor
Christian Education for kids from
Kindergarten to Grade 5
St.
Paul UMC Children’s Ministries is
pleased to present Rotational Learning, a refreshing new Sunday School format
for kids in Kindergarten through Grade 5.
In the Rotational format, kids concentrate on a
central Bible lesson/theme for five weeks, experiencing the timeless truths of
God’s word in a new way each week. Rotation centers include five different
experiences designed to reach all types of learners:
Arts and Crafts
Drama / Puppets / Stories
Media
Cooking and Science
Computer Lab
Each learning center is staffed by a St. Paul host
and each “Crew” of children is accompanied by an adult Crew Leader who is with
them every Sunday for guidance and support. Crews are grouped according to age
and group size.
How to make the most of your child’s Harbor
experience
Our goal at St. Paul is to support families in
making Christian education a priority at home and at church. The Harbor is
staffed entirely by volunteers under the supervision of the pastoral staff. We
will always work hard to provide learning experiences that are just the
beginning of your child’s discovery of faith in Jesus Christ and will do
everything possible to support our families.
Christian education depends upon parents being
committed to their children’s faith. Part of that commitment includes:
· Discussing
your child’s
Sunday experiences and finding ways to apply what they’ve learned throughout the
week
· Prayer
and Bible study
as a family
· Regular
church attendance
· Volunteering
to help with
Christian Education (We are always seeking volunteers and provide all training
and supplies — it’s easier than you think and your commitment can be as few as
five Sundays!)
Thank you for entrusting your children to us on Sunday mornings.
We praise God for the opportunity to see Christ at work in the lives of our
children, including yours!
What about older kids?
Sunday
School isn’t just for kids . . . St. Paul is home to a very active Youth
Ministry, housed at “The Boondocks,” a large complex adjacent to the East Campus
main building. Youth from Grades 6 through 12 meet in age appropriate groups
to grow in their faith with curriculum chosen just for them and led by our Youth
Minister and Adult volunteers. Additionally, St. Paul Youth Ministries
offers numerous opportunities throughout the week for fellowship, bible study,
and off site experiences including local and international missions.
Adult Sunday
School classes take place on Sunday morning at both campuses from 9:45 to 10:45
a.m., and a nursery is always available. We encourage you to explore the many
options available for adult Christian education.
