Faith Promise
Faith Promise
At St. Paul, Faith Promise is the missions endeavor to support, equip, communicate, and send mission and ministry locally, nationally, and internationally. We currently support 20 missionaries/ministries globally. Each of these was hand selected based on its commitment to an evangelical and Wesleyan message; its financial stability and faithfulness; its ability to reach a dispossessed population niche; and its willingness to partner with St. Paul.
Your role, as a part of our congregation, is to learn about these ministries so you can offer your prayers, presence, and gifts to these partners. Each year we hold a Faith Promise gathering event to “welcome home” our partners and to provide you the opportunity to meet them and be encouraged by their stories.
Faith Promise giving is a method of giving which encourages voluntary purposeful giving. It is a method of generous and sacrificial giving. “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 8:5. Faith Promise giving encourages giving in which we trust God to provide our material needs and to give us spiritual blessings. “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8. It is both the privilege and the duty of the Christian to send missionaries by way of generous financial gifts. In ways beyond all human understanding of logic or of math, God takes our gifts, multiplies them, uses them, and repays the giver with blessings. As a spirit of selfless generosity is a mark of a healthy Church, so the practice of collective benevolence is indicative of a vital church. The adage, “Show me your wallet and I’ll show you your heart,” is as applicable to the church as a whole as it is to the individual.
Do you believe missions has anything to do with you today? Do you know what missions is all about at St. Paul? Faith Promise is one of the missions endeavor at our church. Come find out whom we serve, where we serve, how we serve, and how you can be a part.
