Sunday School

Christian Education for Kids from Kindergarten to Grade 5

We are proud to offer a traditional and yet relevant and fun age-appropriate Sunday school at our Downtown Campus.  Three separate classes minister to children in early elementary, upper elementary and jr./sr. high.  We also offer nursery class during Sunday school.  Classes focus on teaching the children Bible stories through hands on experiences inside and outside of the clasroom. Downtown Sunday school is between worship services from 9:45 AM to 10:45 AM.

St.  Paul UMC Children’s Ministries provides Sunday School format for kids in Preschool through Grade 5.  East Campus Sunday school is after morning worship from 10:15 AM to 11:15 AM.  Children meet at the Choir Room and are taken to their classrooms.  Parents can retrieve them from their classrooms.

How to make the most of your child’s Sunday school experience:

Our goal at St. Paul is to support families in making  Christian education a priority at home and at church. Classrooms are staffed entirely by volunteers under the supervision of the pastoral staff.   We will always work hard to provide learning experiences that are just the beginning of your child’s discovery of faith in Jesus Christ and will do everything possible to support our families.

Christian education depends upon parents being committed to their children’s faith.  Part of that commitment includes:

· Discussing your child’s Sunday experiences and finding ways to apply what they’ve learned throughout the week

· Prayer and Bible study as a family

· Regular church attendance

· Volunteering to help with Christian Education (We are always seeking volunteers and provide all training and supplies — it’s easier than you think and your commitment can be as few as five Sundays!)

Thank you for entrusting your children to us on Sunday mornings.  We praise God for the opportunity to see Christ at work in the lives of our children,  including yours!

What about older kids?

Sunday School isn’t just for kids . . . St. Paul is home to a very active Youth Ministry.  Youth from Grades 6 through 12 meet in age appropriate groups to grow in their faith with curriculum chosen just for them and led by adult volunteers.     Additionally, St. Paul Youth Ministries offers numerous opportunities throughout the week for fellowship, Bible study, and off site experiences including local and international missions.

Adult Sunday School classes take place on Sunday morning at both campuses and a nursery is always available.   We encourage you to explore the many options available for adult Christian education.
